Is Your Business Prepared For
The New December 2026
Workplace Exposure Limits (WEL)?

Workplace exposure limits aren't just an issue for large industrial workplaces. If your business uses or generates hazardous airborne contaminants, understanding your exposure risks and the controls required in your workplace is an important part of managing WHS responsibilities.

Australia is transitioning from the current Workplace Exposure Standards (WES) to Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs) for airborne contaminants from 1 December 2026. Some exposure limits are changing, and new contaminants are being added to the WEL list.

The Airborne Reality: WELs are specifically about airborne exposure. Workplace processes can release dusts, gases, fumes, vapours or mists into the air, and businesses need to identify, assess and control the risks associated with airborne contaminants.

Understand your requirements before the deadline.

Don't wait until you're faced with a problem to review your current chemical practices.

We've developed a practical introductory resource kit to help businesses understand the upcoming WEL changes, review their current chemical storage and handling practices, and identify areas that may need further attention.
